StarSkate

STARSkate is a program in Canada that teaches figure skating skills in four different disciplines: ice dance, skating skills, free skate, and interpretive skating. Each discipline has its own unique set of skills and requirements that skaters learn at each level.
STARSkate is taught in group or private lesson formats. The program is designed to be progressive and sequential, meaning that skaters learn skills in a specific order to build on their abilities over time. The program includes awards and incentives to motivate skaters to continue progressing and developing their skills.
Once a skater has mastered the STARSkate program, they can choose to pursue synchronized skating and pairs skating, which are team-oriented disciplines that involve more complex skills and routines.
Skaters in the STARSkate program can take standardized tests to assess their progress and achieve specific figure skating skills. They can also enter competitions, which provide opportunities to showcase their skills and compete against other skaters of similar ability levels. Skaters can also progress to the CompetitiveSkate program, which is designed for skaters who want to compete at a higher level.
The STARSkate program consists of 12 levels, each with its own set of skills and requirements in each discipline. Skaters progress through the levels by mastering each set of skills and meeting the requirements for each level.
The STARSkate program aims to develop important life skills, such as goal-setting, self-discipline, confidence, time management, healthy lifestyle, and coping strategies. These skills are developed through the process of learning and mastering figure skating skills, and are transferable to other areas of life.
